Welcome!  We invite you to stop by and worship with us in Christian fellowship. We are a small community of believers who follow the doctrine of the United Methodist Church and the theology of John Wesley. We take seriously the mission of the Church to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by reflecting God's love through faith, worship, and service so others may discover God's grace.

Pastor:  The Reverend Nancy White

New Appointment

Picture
It is with joy that we announce that it is the intention of Bishop Debbie Wallace Padgett to appoint co-pastors to the Milton-Bethesda charge. Rev Jessica Kayembe will serve as our lead pastor and will be joined by the Rev. Annette Carper.
Pastor Jessica is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and comes to us via the United Methodist Connection. She is a graduate of Africa University and Drew Theological School, both United Methodist schools. After graduating with her Master of Divinity in 2024, she joined us in WV to serve as the associate pastor at Elizabeth Memorial. She and her husband, Daddy, who is a chef, have a 5-month-old son named “Gamy.”
Pastor Annette is originally from WV and is retiring as an Elder at Annual Conference this year. She currently serves as the pastor of Johnson Memorial. She just moved into her retirement home in Ceredo and is getting her dog and cats settled into their new home. She hopes to enjoy supporting the mission and ministry of the charge as well as develop some retirement hobbies, like learning to do watercolor painting!

Pastor Jessica has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and natural resources from Africa University in Zimbabwe and a Master of Divinity Degree from Drew Theological School (Drew University) in New Jersey. After graduating from Drew in 2025, she joined the West Virginia Annual Conference and was appointed at Elizabeth Memorial UMC as an Associate Pastor working under the children and youth ministry, where she enjoyed working with the younger folks. She got the call to ministry when she was in her 20s, but she denied it because she thought she was too young for ministry. After years of praying and discerning, she finally accepted the call, and now she is a licensed local Pastor in our Annual Conference.
Pastor Jessica's spiritual gifts are faith, compassion, and healing. She professes her faith every day through words and actions. She has a unique leadership style where she does it with grace and a smile. Pastor Jessica likes to be in the community, visiting people by meeting them where they are, speaking to them, understanding their needs, and finding ways to help. She is an extrovert, sociable, approachable, and a good listener. She is sometimes quiet, not because she doesn’t want to talk but because she takes time to learn, to listen, and to understand how things are done around her, especially in a new environment.

Sunday Worship Service
Morning Worship:  11:00 a.m.

Picture
Our worship is considered to be more traditional style with the Word of God shared in liturgy and message. The songs of the United Methodist hymnal also lift up our praises to God along with occasional other selections and special music. The children and youth participate and are welcome among us as we delight in what they bring to our worship. We share our joys and concerns to offer support of one another and to celebrate life together. We invite you to be present with us each Sunday at 11:00 a.m. to worship.
